Vincent van Gogh has become an ally in my journey of becoming a better artist.
A knee injury and a pair of crutches makes it hard to access my studio. Working on the unfinished “Icons” painting and the “Three generations” is on hold for the time being. Fortunately, my first love in art is at hand: sketchbook and pencil!
This is where Vincent was dragged into it. I can at least better my drawing technique by copying some of his drawings and etchings.
This is my take on his “Bird’s nest” with beautiful strong lines. Pen and ink would have done better, but my lovely Blackwing Matte pencil isn’t a bad substitute at all!
